What is an asymptomatic retinal detachment?   Isn’t a retinal detachment an emergency that should be operated urgently?   Will this my asymptomatic retinal detachment ever progress?   As far as is known, what is the risk of progression of an asymptomatic retinal detachment?   Shouldn’t I have it repaired if or when it progresses?   But won’t it be like having a time bomb ticking away if I don’t have it done?   Can this be summarised?   Who makes the decision to proceed with surgery?
