This
is possibly the least common of the causes of floaters but
potentially very important. People who have inflammation at
the back of the eye, may develop accumulations of cells within
the vitreous jelly. These cells can form into clumps rather
like snowballs that float around. In many instances the appropriate
treatment for these inflammatory floaters is to treat the
inflammation that caused them. The floaters usually then dissipate
with time.
