Some people will suffer bleeding into the vitreous jelly. The effect of this depends on the severity of the bleed. Some people will have just a few dots of blood acting as red floaters but in others the blood may result in loss of vision in the eye. It is very important that the cause of the bleeding is identified and if needs be treated to prevent anything more serious occuring. Patients with bleeding in the eye can have a retinal tear which could go on to a retinal detachment or complications of conditions such as diabetes.
