Undergoing
an operation is quite stressful. Some people describe the
feeling after surgery as being akin to having had a recent
dose of flu and it may take 2-3 weeks before you feel fully
recovered.
Following surgery there are some limitations on activity.
Clearly any posturing instructions need to be followed. If
you have a gas bubble in the eye you must not fly until that
has gone. Swimming will be sore for 2-3 weeks after the surgery.
Beyond this there are very few things that you should not
do. Using the eye will not harm it. There is no benefit in
resting your eye and you may do anything with which you are
comfortable. Once the gas bubble has gone, flying and travelling
are safe and you can resume any sporting activities as soon
as you wish provided, of course, it does not interfere with
the posturing regime or irritate the eye.
